![]() For those of us on the Windows, we know that is something that should be required for every app out here: Keyboard Shortcuts!! And, the Windows app is definitely awesome as well, employing keyboard shortcuts throughout the app. That’s all well and good, but it really does get down to business when it comes to knowing what weather is coming your way, giving detailed analysis of whatever weather conditions are present at any location you desire. The Snarks are awesome, and definitely will get you laughing at least every once in a while. Well worth the money!!! This app is WAY better than Forecast (especially on the Microsoft Watch) or even the native Dark Sky app! But, this app has some pretty good humor, and it is definitely a trip to poke the daylights out of the Ocular Sensor every now and then (LOL). But then I finally took the plunge and bought it on the iOS and Windows platforms. But at the end of the day, I think it could be a change for the best for me at this time.Īnd who knows, I could always go back to using CARROT Weather if I find the Weather app to be unsatisfactory.įor the time being, I have decided to pay for the $7.99 a month Tier subscription through in-app purchases that I have paid this month and will do so again in September, with my expected cancellation coming once the release date of iOS 15 has been announced to the public. All this time, I had been seeing Carrot Weather at a distance, seeing what it can do, but I wasn’t impressed at first. In the meantime, when the new Weather app is released, I’ll admit that it will be a change for me, especially the Apple Watch app and not having a macOS version of the Weather app on my MacBook Pro. If the new Weather app is not updated and working to my satisfaction after a few weeks or months of usage, I will consider going back to CARROT Weather. You might be wondering if there is a way to get me to go back to CARROT Weather? I’m sure that throughout the months of the new Weather app being released and available to the general public that the feature will eventually be added to it. The only feature I have not seen from any of the iOS 15 betas is one where it tells you when you’re in a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or Tornado Warning. Oh, and there is a widget available for it too, obviously. With the new Apple Weather app, I’ll get similar alerts of when there is about to be precipitation in my area and access to a good radar. However, even with all of that, if I can get all or most of those features for free, I’ll probably want to go that route. I trust it more than local TV meteorologists too. You could not ask for a better premium weather app. The humor in it is constantly being updated and the notifications for weather have been borderline pinpoint accurate. Over the years, this app has brought me a lot of joy. Then again, that could make for some unnecessary distracted driving. Honestly, I’m kind of surprised there was never a CarPlay version of the app that would let you view your current weather conditions, as well as see a radar. This includes the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and even the Apple TV app that seems as though it has not been updated in ages. I’ve been using the Tier 3 subscription for $24.99 a month.įor the record, I have used every single version of the app. With Apple acquiring the Dark Sky weather app last year and then integrating it into its Weather app in the upcoming iOS 15 release, I feel like there is not much of a point for me to keep having my CARROT Weather subscription. However, those days look like they are coming to an end. Since my late college days, I have relied on one particular weather app to keep me informed about my local weather, as opposed to nearby TV stations.
